Our Story
What started as a need to collaborate with other creatives in the raft of telling human stories through artistic expression, performance and commentary, ended up as a film production initiative that manages various art forms and also publishes content as professional intellectual property.
Led by Sibusiso Mnyanda ( Executive Director, Copywriter and Producer) and Tsepo M. Sobukwe(Executive Director and Production Manager) this vibrant production hub project is a beacon of hope for protestant art production and management going into the 2020’s. Together with Mandlakathixo Shonhiwa ( Film maker/ Videographer) they formed a formidable team that tells our stories in a way that allows us to reflect positively about human existence and sustainability.
Based in Cape Town June 2015 when we embarked on the project and eventually ventured to Johannesburg, we wanted to be an alternative to what exist. Soon we realised we need to be not alternative only but exclusive in as far as content and be more direct to our target base. this needed us to know who wants to hear what stories and in what format. This is the basis of The MoonRises Productions work. Film Production, Music Production Management and New-Media Production.
